Frequently Asked Questions

We try to anticipate questions you might have about our PRODUCT / SERVICE and provide the answers here. If you need additional information send email to YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.

1. How long has Pc-Dispatch™ been in business

Pc-Dispatch has products that are still in use for over 24 years. Our Enterprise software has been on the market for over 15 years. Originally Mobile Computer Systems, Buffy Hunt purchased the software in 1997, and has been running the company with the same team for over 10 years.

2. Do you have software for the smaller cab company that is easy to use and affordable?

The answer is yes. We have customers that have as few as 5 vehicles, yet our largest fleet owner has over 400 vehicles. The software is modular and can fit almost any fleet owner's needs.

3. How quickly can you have my company up and running?

It really depends on the complexity and needs of your fleet. We have had customers sign an agreement, give us a credit card for their downpayment, and in three days were up and running. Most companies are up and running in a week, larger companies take longer because larger companies require more time to install their hardware in their vehicles. But we have teams ready to meet your needs quickly and efficiently.

4. What happens if my system stops working in the middle of the night?

Taxi cabs do not start running at 9am and stop at 5pm. We don't either. We are available for your emergencies 24/7. You speak to a person, not a voice mail, and we usually have a turn around on your problem in a matter of 15 minutes or less. We do not charge for our 24 hour support, it is part of your monthly lease. There is always someone there to help you with your problems. You do not have to wait hours for someone to return your call.

5. My drivers have their own android devices and their own data plans, can they use these devices with your software?

Yes, of course it is not as effiecent as the tablets, and if the driver uses it for voice calls too, they stand the chance of missing an opportunity to get work because of software does not run will recieving calls. We have large customers that require their drivers to get android devices and a seperate phone for voice calls. The device itself must have the data plan, wifi does not work well, because the device may get disconnected.

6. Is Sprint the only option for data plans?

While Sprint has the least expensive data plan, we are certainly not limited to Sprint. Most any android device that has a data plan on it and has access to the internet will work (sometimes it takes testing, and there are cases where the android device just won't work).

7. I don't want to sign a long term contract with anyone, including PcDispatch and Sprint. Can I still use your software and what data plan will work without a contract.

PcDispatch does not require a long term contract. We have several customers that are seasonal, and come back each season and use our software. And if for some reason you want to terminate the contract, well that is fine, we require one month's notice. As far as a data plan, try out Ting. Ting has inexpensive devices (phones) and have the best interface to take care of the monthly payment for data and the plans usually run from $15 to $20 a month.
