Cuyahoga County chooses PC Dispatch as its technology vendor of choice who will develop a GPS Tracking/Scheduling Solution for the Cuyahoga Department of Children and Family Services. The principals, located in Cleveland, Ohio, are confident that PC Dispatch has the experience, knowledge, and software developers with the understanding of the current trends in Municipal Transportation.
Buffy Hunt, president of PC Dispatch is delighted and is confident that her company will deliver a software solution that will enable the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services to fulfill its mission of to provide safe transportation to the at risk children of Cuyahoga County. The system enabled these large companies to schedule recurring trips with permanent assignments so that template manifests can be easily added and modified. This enables the scheduler to pop in ‘on-demand response’ trips to regular recurring trips.”
The Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services believe that frequent family visitation promotes a bonding relationship between parent and child and increases the probability of timely reunification. The families served by the Family Visitation Program require transportation services. The services provided to the families are both long and short term. The purpose of the program is to safely transport children who are in substitute care to the least restrictive setting in which family visits can be held.
The objective of this project is to automate and/or replace many of the daily routines and operations with a well-designed software solution. These operations include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Transportation scheduling;
2. Generating of letters of notification for transportation and visitations;
3. Generating non-transportation visits;
4. Interfacing with the Families and Children Tracking System (FACTS/SACWIS)
5. Generating daily and monthly reports;
6. Providing an automatic vehicle location (AVL) mapping system utilizing
a global positioning system, or GPS.
